Lonka NV was founded in Breda (the Netherlands) in 1920. Originally as Lonca, a contraction of London Caramel Works. In 1997 the company Lonka NV was taken over by the De Bock family. Since then Lonka has been a family business operating internationally and independently. A great deal has been invested in the market and in machines and in product innovation. In 2002 a new factory was opened in Roosendaal with a total surface area of 6,000 m2. By now some 50 employees ensure that the treats of Lonka eventually reach the happy consumers via the supermarkets and wholesalers.
In 2010 Lonka acquired the soft nougat manufacturer - Marandi BV. As of 2014 the production lines have moved from Lunteren to Roosendaal.
As per January 2012 Lonka took over the Donkers company, which is known for its famous jellies and chocolate candies with Rum.
